Get Involved

If you would like to help make a difference, there are a number of ways you can get more involved in the campaign:

Vigils

Since 2023, we have held weekly vigils in Abergavenny (Saturdays, 11:00 – 12:30, Opposite Waterstones) and Monmouth (Wednesdays, 11:00 – 12:00, Opposite Waitrose). Please come along to show your support, or to stand with us (even for a few minutes). New people are always welcome, and the size of these gatherings has increased steadily as more people see the obvious injustices being heaped on the Palestinian people and become frustrated with the behaviour of successive UK Governments.

We realise that approaching a group of strangers can feel intimidating, but it’s OK, we’re friendly! Many of us were in the same situation, and for many of us this is the first time we’ve been involved in any kind of ‘activism’; we just feel that the treatment of Palestinians is one of the great wrongs of current times, and we cannot stay silent when our Government is complicit.

Campaigns

Don’t Buy Apartheid

The Don’t Buy Apartheid campaign calls on all individuals, shops, restaurants, and businesses to take two key actions to support the Palestinian struggle for freedom:

1) Boycott Israeli produce like avocados, oranges, herbs and dates.

2) Boycott Coca-Cola and its brands Schweppes, Sprite, Fanta, Innocent, Appletiser, Smart Water and Costa Coffee.

Israeli fresh produce, like avocados, oranges, herbs and dates, is grown in illegal Israeli settlements on stolen Palestinian land. When businesses sell this produce, they are supporting Israel’s land theft and ethnic cleansing.

The Coca-Cola franchisee in Israel operates a regional distribution centre in an illegal Israeli settlement. It’s therefore helping to entrench Israel’s military occupation and colonisation of Palestinian land. Consumers and businesses should buy an apartheid-free alternative, such as Gaza Cola.

LGPS Divest

Local Government Pension Scheme funds collectively invest billions in companies complicit in Israel’s grave violations of Palestinian human rights.

Led by scheme members and their representative trade unions, we are campaigning to ensure administering authorities guarantee that scheme members’ money is not used to support Israel’s war crimes and violations of international law.

PSC has sent a legal notice to every council in England & Wales administering a Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) fund, outlining that they are under a legal obligation to take steps to divest from companies enabling and profiting from Israel’s genocide, military occupation and apartheid against Palestinians.

E-mail your councillors today to demand that the council ends its financial ties to companies complicit in Israel’s crimes against Palestinians.

National Palestine Solidarity Campaign

If you haven’t already, please visit the National PSC Website. Here you can find a wide range of resources which explain the current situation and the historical background behind it, see details of National events and campaigns, find a list of local branches (if you’re not in the Abergavenny area), buy merchandise to support the Campaign and the Palestinian people, and even become a member of the national organisation.
